The View, recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of four dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day.

The show is produced by and features ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters -- who appears on average three days a week -- moderator Meredith Vieira, prosecutor-turned-commentator Star Jones and comedian Joy Behar. The View consists of hot topics in the news, the best experts in their field, celebrity interviews and general entertainment. The program celebrated its 1000th show on November 28, 2001, and is currently in its seventh season on ABC.

The View is the recipient of 16 Daytime Emmy Awards, numerous Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including six consecutive nominations for "Outstanding Talk Show" and "Outstanding Talk Show Host," the Gracie Award from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television, two Prism Commendations presented by the Entertainment Industries Council & National Institute on Drug Abuse, the GLAAD Media Award for "Outstanding TV Talk Show," the Los Angeles Daily News Reader's Choice Award for "Best Morning Talk Show," the Good Housekeeping Great Works Award, and was also voted "Favorite Talk Show" by Viewers Voice, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports television programming.

In May 2001 the co-hosts were awarded the Safe Horizon Champion Award for their continued efforts to raise awareness on issues of importance to girls and women. In March 2002, the show received the Linda Dano Heart Award from Heartshare Human Services of New York for its programming philosophy that brought enlightenment, entertainment and comfort to families throughout the Nation and New York in the wake of September 11, 2001.

The co-hosts have appeared together on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Charlie Rose, Larry King Live and their own Super View segment, broadcast during the Super Bowl pre-game show in January, 2000. In March 2002, they hosted a special wrap-around titled Bonding With The View for the ABC network premiere of Diamonds Are Forever. The co-hosts have graced covers of magazines, including TV Guide and Ladies Home Journal. In May, 2003 the co-hosts were featured as part of the live, three-hour broadcast of The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with a comical segment titled The View from the Daytime Emmys. In the highest form of adulation, and a clear recognition of the show's popularity and success, The View has been used in a number of satires, from SNL to MAD Magazine.

In October, 2003, The View unveiled a series of "firsts" as the program broadcast live for one day, outdoors on the campus of the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC for the exciting grand finale to "The View From Your Hometown" contest. In June 2003, The View broadcast their first live primetime special entitled "The View: His & Her Body Test." The hour included gender related "Hot Topics," celebrities and a real-time multiple choice quiz.

In March 2003, The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced live on The View. This first-ever one-hour national television talk show event featured a dazzling lineup of daytime stars from all three major networks. In March 2002 The View broadcast After Party at The View, the show's first live Late-Night special following the Academy Awards.

The View is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters' Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for The Barbara Walters Specials.
